Nights Watchby Kaat

Terms of Service

Effective date: [EFFECTIVE DATE] · Last updated: [DATE]

These Terms govern your use of Nights Watch by Kaat ("Nights Watch", the "service") — a study-group scheduling product that is part of Kaat, the all-in-one events app — operated by [Axiom Studio Limited] ("we", "us"), available at nights-watch.kaat.app. By using the service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. What Nights Watch is

Nights Watch lets you create a shared study calendar, invite others, check in to study sessions, and see a group leaderboard. It is part of Kaat, the all-in-one events app, and is built around a simple idea: a group that keeps watch together and holds each other to the commitments they've made until the work is done. It is provided free of charge. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may introduce paid features in the future with notice.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least [16] years old to use Nights Watch, and if you are under the age of majority where you live, you must have a parent's or guardian's permission. You are responsible for complying with any rules of your school or institution.

3. Your account

4. Groups, roles, and invitations

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

6. Reminders are best-effort — do not rely on them alone

Nights Watch can send reminders and can generate a calendar file for your device. These notifications are provided on a best-effort basis and are not guaranteed to arrive on time, or at all. Mobile operating systems limit how and when a web app can deliver notifications. Do not rely on Nights Watch as your only means of remembering anything important. You are responsible for your own attendance and deadlines.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of the display name, group names, and other content you provide. You grant us the limited licence needed to store and display that content within the service so it works as intended (for example, showing your name on your group's leaderboard). You're responsible for the content you submit and confirm you have the right to submit it.

8. Third-party services

Nights Watch relies on third parties including Supabase, Brevo, Netlify, and, if you use them, Google and Apple. Your use of those sign-in options is also subject to their terms and privacy policies. We're not responsible for third-party services.

9. Availability and changes

The service is provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may modify, suspend, or discontinue it (in whole or in part) at any time. We'll try to give reasonable notice of significant changes where we can.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for missed sessions, deadlines, or exams, arising from your use of — or inability to use — the service. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms or use the service in a way that risks harm to others or to the service.

12. Open-source components

Parts of Nights Watch's code may be made available under an open-source licence. That licence governs the code; these Terms govern your use of the hosted service and its brand, which remain ours.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Nigeria / your jurisdiction], and the courts of [jurisdiction] will have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll update the date above and, for significant changes, make a reasonable effort to notify you. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept them.
